What information do we collect?

Battle Match collects the following data:

• Account data: When you sign in via Discord, Steam, Apple Game Center, or Google Play Games, we receive your user ID and profile information from the identity provider.
• Telemetry: We collect anonymous error reports and application diagnostics (exceptions, application version, platform). Telemetry does not include user IDs or personal identifiers. IP addresses are anonymized (last octet removed) at ingestion.
• Purchase data: When you make an in-app purchase, we store a transaction record (product identifier, marketplace, transaction identifier, and validation timestamp) linked to your account.
• Server logs: IP addresses are recorded in server logs and retained no longer than 90 days.

Lawful basis for processing

We process your data on the following legal bases under GDPR:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Account data, purchase records, and session management are necessary to provide the service.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Anonymous telemetry is collected to identify and fix software defects and maintain service stability. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

What do we use your information for?

• Provide and maintain the game service
• Deliver purchased content and verify entitlements
• Identify and fix software defects
• Improve service stability and quality

Third-party services

We share data with the following third parties, solely for the purposes of operating the service:

• Microsoft Azure (data processor): Anonymous telemetry data is stored in Azure Application Insights, hosted in Azure Sweden Central. Microsoft processes this data under a Data Processing Agreement.
• Discord, Steam, Apple Game Center, Google Play Games (identity providers): Authentication data is exchanged when you sign in via these services.

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Cookies and local storage

Battle Match uses only cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the service to function:

• Authentication cookies: Used to maintain your session.
• Guest identity cookie: Associates your browser with a guest account so you can play without signing in.
• Language preference: Stored in your browser's local storage.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking cookies.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Battle Match does not sell or share personal data, so no behavioral change is required when GPC is detected.

Data retention

• Server logs with IP addresses: no longer than 90 days.
• Telemetry data: retained according to Azure Application Insights defaults (90 days).
• Account data: retained while your account is active.
• Purchase data: retained while your account is active.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate personal data
• Erase your personal data
• Port your data to another service
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest

Children

Battle Match is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Linked third-party sites maintain independent privacy policies for which Battle Match bears no responsibility.

Changes to this policy

Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
